Last night at life groups, they asked us to write our psalm, our song to God. and this is what I wrote. it's just a poem. maybe not all that great. but I made Jeff cry when he read it. So here goes I guess.
My Psalm.
By: Cody Pryer
My Lord, what are you preparing for me?
I try and I try and I try to break free
of this perverted, sick addiction inside of me.
Have you indeed finally forsaken me?
Or is this just your plan to teach me sympathy?
"Mercy" is what Jeff and Matt have said.
Without your mercy, they all say we'd be dead
But I need proof of your mercy, Lord
proof that it was for me you died for.
Can you show me your heaven above,
so that I may better show you my love?
Or maybe just to reaffirm my faith,
Which has fallen and broken and splintered of late.
Teach me Lord, that your word is true,
So I can learn how to trust in You.
Lord, I hear them speak from your word,
and it goes through my ears so often unheard.
They stand up on stage, or just in the front of the room,
And try to teach us how to believe in you.
I want to believe your son died for me.
Please help me see that you set me free.
